Thank you to everyone that participated in our first Virtual Workshop (see below for information) held in 2020. You can review the results of the Community Survey to learn about the feedback provided through the Virtual Workshop. The City is currently preparing a draft Housing Element for public review based on the community's response to our first Virtual Workshop. A draft of the Housing Element will be circulated for public review and during that time the City will hold additional virtual workshops/meetings to collect community feedback.

Community Survey Summary Results

The City of Lake Forest welcomes you to share your ideas about housing in our community. What made you decide to call Lake Forest home? Or, if you don’t already live in Lake Forest, are there certain opportunities and challenges preventing you from living here? We want to learn more about your existing housing options, your housing priorities, and where you think Lake Forest’s share of new regional housing growth can be best accommodated.

Using the material below, we encourage you to consider this “Virtual Open House” on Housing Priorities as a “three step” process that replicates the traditional “in-person” workshop format in a new virtual way. This includes:

• Step 1: Watch the first video below (What is a Housing Element?) to learn more about Housing Elements and why we are updating ours

• Step 2: Watch the second video below (Planning for the Future of Housing in Lake Forest) to better understand how we’re addressing the housing needs of current and future residents

• Step 3: Share your ideas about housing by answering some or all of the questions linked below

Step 3 - Provide your Feedback: Housing Conditions and Priorities Surveys

Now we want to hear your ideas!

“Question 1” is a survey about existing housing conditions in Lake Forest. Are there enough types of housing choices to meet the needs of our residents? Are homes well-maintained? Are there specific improvements you are planning to make to your home? Take the first survey to share your input.

“Question 2” is a survey about your housing priorities. Do you think it’s important that people who grow up in Lake Forest can rent or buy a home here as they get older? How important do you think it is for people to have housing options they can afford close to their job? Take the second survey to share your ideas.
